This Is What Separates Sheep From Goats

Trevor Hersey

In Matthew 25, Jesus paints a striking picture of sheep and goats, not to create fear, but to reveal what has been shaping a life all along. This message explores how the final judgment is not about tallying good deeds or religious activity, but about kingdom allegiance and formation. The sheep did not earn the Kingdom by serving, and the goats were not condemned by surprise. Instead, Jesus shows that a life lived in union with Him naturally expresses His love, especially toward the least of these. As we unpack this parable, we discover that true legacy is not achievement, memory, or influence, but becoming a person so formed by Christ that love becomes instinctual. This teaching invites us to examine what is shaping us now and how living connected to Jesus produces a life that reflects His Kingdom here and now.
